Shreveport police union funds LSUS scholarship

Shreveport Police Local #75 of the International Union of Police Associations has continued its funding of the Glen Tompkins Memorial Scholarship at LSUS with a $2,000 donation.

The annual scholarship honoring the Shreveport police officer who was killed in the line of duty was established in 1984. Continued funding for the scholarship is provided by friends and family of Tompkins’ and members of the police union. The scholarship is awarded to a Louisiana resident who is an LSUS freshman majoring in criminal justice.

Shreveport Police Sgt. Breck Bickham, treasurer of the police union, presented the $2,000 check to LSUS Chancellor Vincent J. Marsala Tuesday (May 11).
