to discuss
citizen police review board
at luncheon

The Caddo/Bossier
League of Women Voters is hosting a luncheon meeting Tuesday (May
18) that will feature a panel discussion on the pros and cons of
creating a Citizen’s Police Review Board for Shreveport. The
luncheon will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn
Downtown (102 Lake Street).
State Rep. Cedric
Glover has introduced a bill in the House authorizing the creation
of such a board. Joining Glover for the panel discussion will be
Mike Campbell, Shreveport police chief; Milton Williams, chair of
the Mayor’s Police Citizen’s Advisory Committee, and
Wayne Allen, Former Caddo Parish DA’s Office homicide investigator.
Cost of lunch
is $20 for non-league members (lunch fee is waived for those who
join the League at the luncheon), $15 for league members and $10
for students with IDs. To confirm attendance or for information,
