LSUS students honored by Chemical Society

Two
LSUS students have been honored for their academic achievements
by the Northwest Louisiana Section of the American Chemical Society.
At
its April meeting, the section presented Ashley Davis, a freshman
biology (physician’s assistant) major from Shreveport, with
the CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award, and Josh Lesniewski,
a Shreveport biochemistry major, with the Polymer Organic Award.
The
CRC Press award recognizes the outstanding student in the freshman
chemistry sequence based on course performance. The selection is
made by the faculty teaching the course. The award is sponsored
by the CRC Press and consists of a certificate and a copy of the
CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
The
Polymer Organic Award, made by the organic chemistry faculty, recognizes
the outstanding student in Organic Chemistry based on performance
in organic (and materials science) courses. The award is sponsored
by the American Chemical Society's Polymer Education Committee and
consists of a certificate of achievement.
