LSUS Pilots named GCAC player, pitcher of the week

Two LSUS Pilots baseball players have been chosen Gulf Coast Athletic Conference player and pitcher of the week for the week of March 15.

Chris Frye, a sophomore center fielder from Minden, was named GCAC Player of the Week after hitting .429 for the week with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 runs batted in. His slugging percentage was .929.

Wesley Cromer, a freshman from Bossier City, was named GCAC Pitcher of the Week after being 1-0 for the period, gaining the victory in the Pilots’ 6-4 win over Belhaven College. He also had a no decision against Louisiana College in a 5-2 loss. Cromer had a 4.00 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 9 innings pitched.
