downloading to be discussed April 1 at LSUS

The
Downloading of Music will be the topic of a discussion and Q&A
session from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, in the LSUS
University Center Theater. The session will be led by Jonathan Whitehead,
Recording Industry Association of America vice president and anti-piracy
counsel, Internet and new media, and Stan Lewis, owner of Jewel-Paula-Ronn
Records.
Whitehead
has extensive legal experience in the fields of Internet piracy,
online commerce and intellectual property. He received a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Washington University, and a J.D. degree (magna
cum laude) from American University’s Washington College of
Law.
Based
in Washington, D.C., the Recording Industry Association of America
is a trade association that represents hundreds of member record
companies responsible for creating, manufacturing and distributing
more than 90 percent of all legitimate sound recordings sold in
the United States.
The
program, which is free and open to the public, is hosted by the
LSUS College of Liberal Arts and the Institute for Human Services
