Music downloading to be discussed April 1 at LSUS

The Downloading of Music will be the topic of a discussion and Q&A session from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, in the LSUS University Center Theater. The session will be led by Jonathan Whitehead, Recording Industry Association of America vice president and anti-piracy counsel, Internet and new media, and Stan Lewis, owner of Jewel-Paula-Ronn Records.

Whitehead has extensive legal experience in the fields of Internet piracy, online commerce and intellectual property. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University, and a J.D. degree (magna cum laude) from American University’s Washington College of Law.

Based in Washington, D.C., the Recording Industry Association of America is a trade association that represents hundreds of member record companies responsible for creating, manufacturing and distributing more than 90 percent of all legitimate sound recordings sold in the United States.
