LSUS to host Croquet Classic April 24

Haven’t played croquet in years? Want to enjoy a fun spring day? Here’s your chance: The Fifth Annual Shreveport-Bossier Croquet Classic will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, on the front lawn of the LSUS campus.

Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal will stage this great event that allows you to brush up on your old croquet skills or learn how to play for the first time. Don’t want to play? Spectators are welcome, and the $20 admission includes a gourmet lunch.

The entry fee for participants is $200, and sponsorships range from $100 to $5,000. All tickets and sponsorships include lunch. This year’s tournament will also feature a silent auction. Overall event sponsors are Williams Financial Advisors; Robertson, Bailes & McClelland LLP, and Don and Katie Weir.

“This is a lively, enjoyable occasion – even if you do not play croquet,” Classic Chair Judy Christie said. “It offers a chance to visit and have a great lunch and raise money to improve our community. We hope lots of folks will join us.” Kim FitzGerald is co-chair.
