| LSUS
professor to show, discuss Mars rover images
02/12/04
Mars
isn’t just the “red” planet anymore; striking
new pictures from the surface of Earth’s closest planetary
neighbor vividly show other colors, too.
Dr.
Cran Lucas, an LSUS professor of biological sciences and president
of the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, will display and
discuss the latest information and images from NASA’s Mars
rovers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the LSUS Science Lecture
Auditorium. Lucas invites everyone to “see Mars in color and
3-D like you have never seen it before.”
The
presentation is sponsored by the Astronomical Society and the LSUS
College of Sciences. The LSUS campus is located in Southeast Shreveport
between Youree Drive and East Kings Highway just south of Bert Kouns
Industrial Loop and Willis-Knighton Pierremont. The Science Lecture
Auditorium is located off the South Drive of the campus, where there
is ample parking even for a standing-room-only crowd.
