staffer named leader of national alumni group

Amanda Joy Bell,
event coordinator and American Humanics program coordinator at the
LSUS Institute for Human Services and Public Policy, was named the
first president of the American Humanics National Alumni Association
Jan. 4 at the American Humanics Management Institute in Kansas City,
Mo. Bell, a 2001 LSUS graduate, was a founding member of American
Humanics Alumni Leadership Board in 2003 and was instrumental in
the formation of the alumni association. Her term as president will
run through the 2005 American Humanics Management Institute, which
she has attended every year since 2001. American Humanics, established
in 1948, is a national alliance of colleges, universities and nonprofit
organizations dedicated to educating, preparing and certifying professionals
to strengthen and lead nonprofit organizations. American Humanics
is present on more than 80 campuses nationwide and has more than
15 national nonprofit partners.
