Lady Pilots fall to Jarvis Christian, 68-62

The LSUS Lady Pilots were host to the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs Monday night. In the first half of play the two teams went to work on the defensive ends of the court, holding each other to a halftime score of 31-28 in favor of the Lady Pilots.

In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs picked up their offense and proved to be too much for the Lady Pilots. Jennifer Oko poured in 18 points for Jarvis Christian, followed by teammate Jennifer Crutcher who finished with 17.

The Lady Pilots kept it close until a late run by the Lady Bulldogs put the game out of reach. Renalda Stafford finished with a game-high 22 points for the Lady Pilots. Kendera Monette ended with 15 points and 10 rebounds, her second double-double of the year.

The Lady Pilots open Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play Thursday, Dec. 18, when they travel to Jackson, Miss., to face the Belhaven College Lady Blazers. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
