Pilots mistreat Millsaps, 75-63
12/01/03
The LSUS Pilots traveled to Jackson, Miss., to take on the Millsaps
College Majors. LSUS entered the contest with a 3-4 record, with
six of those contests being on the road. The Pilots improved their
record to 4-4 with a 75-63 victory over the Majors.
In
the first half, Millsaps had the upper hand, going 8 for 12 from
beyond the three-point line. Brad Greenhaw led the way for the Majors
with 9 points in the opening frame. The Pilots kept pace, however,
and Millsaps led by only one at the half, 34-33.
A
balanced LSUS scoring attack proved to be too much for the Majors
in the second half. Travis Cash and teammate Derrick Sowell both
collected double-doubles in the game. Sowell contributed with 18
points and 13 rebounds while Cash finished with 12 points and 10
boards. Derrick Rogers rounded off the Pilots' offense with a 17-point
performance to go along with 8 rebounds.
Both LSUS basketball teams look to improve their records Thursday
night when they will play on the road at Texas College in Tyler.
The Lady Pilots tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30
p.m.
