Eagles Soar Over LSUS Lady Pilots, 73-52

The LSUS Lady Pilots traveled to John Brown University in Siloam
Springs, Arkansas Tuesday night to compete in the John Brown University
Classic. The final game of the evening had LSUS scheduled to play
the host team John Brown University Golden Eagles.
At the end of the first half it was the Golden Eagles who had the
lead by the score of 31-30. Both teams battled back and forth from
beyond the three-point line where the Lady Pilots shots nearly 50
percent, going 5 of 11shooting from beyond the arc in the first
half. Renalda Stafford led the LSUS scoring attack with 12 points
in the first half.
After a visit in the locker room at halftime, the Golden Eagles
flew away with the score in the second half. After outscoring their
opponent 42-22 in the second frame, the final score had the Eagles
over the Lady Pilots 73-52. Kendra McCormick produced the game high
20 points for the Golden Eagles. Teammates Ashley Wettengel and
Lesli Fanning pitched in combining for 28 points and four assists.
For LSUS, it was Dyamond Hogg who led the team in points with 13
and a game high 36 minutes played.
LSUS will square off against their next opponent tomorrow at 1 p.m.,
which will conclude their stay at the John Brown University Classic.
The Lady Pilots will then travel back home where they will await
their first home game Tuesday night at 5:30 when they will square
off against Texas College.
