Activities surrounding the 20th anniversary of the LSUS International Lincoln Center for American Studies continue this week when the center hosts the 21st Annual Meeting of the Association of Third World Studies. The conference is free and open to the public.

The event, the center’s second international conference of the fall academic semester, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 6) in the LSUS University Center with a presentation by Dr. Michael Sartisky, president and executive director of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, titled “Louisiana and the Third World.”

Sessions will be conducted in the University Center all day Friday and Saturday (Nov. 7-8), with 125 scholars from all parts of the United States and many other countries discussing issues involving the Third World – developing nations in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
