School
improvement conference
set at LSUS

The
Second Annual Building Partnerships for School Improvement will
be held June 19-20 in the LSUS University Center. The conference,
to be attended by more than 200 Northwest Louisiana educators, will
be hosted by the Louisiana Department of Education’s Region
VII Education Service Center and the Alliance for Education.
Conducting the first day of the conference will be Dr. Eric Twadell,
an administrator at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, Lincolnshire,
Ill., and Dr. Thomas Many, superintendent of the Kildeer Countryside
Community Consolidated School District No. 96, Buffalo Grove, Ill.
They will cover “Laying the Foundation of a Learning Community:
Mission, Vision, Values and Goals.”
The second day will be conducted by Lee Douglas, principal of Joseph
M. Neal Elementary School in Las Vegas, and will cover “The
Nine Key Elements” and a “Blueprint for Instructional
Leadership.”
Principals, administrators, superintendents and teacher leaders
attending the conference are from the seven parishes served by the
Region VII center: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto,
Red River and Webster.
The sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
