Initiative to honor Shehee, Horseshoe

Shehee, head of Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company, and Horseshoe
Casino will be honored at the “Transforming Communities Through
Philanthropy” luncheon Tuesday (May 7) at the Petroleum Club
of Shreveport.
The
luncheon is hosted by the LSUS Institute for Human Services and
Public Policy, the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations,
Service Connection and the Community Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier.
The four organizations are part of the Louisiana Philanthropy Initiative,
a statewide collaborative of nonprofits, foundations and corporations
working to sustain Louisiana’s nonprofit sector by promoting
philanthropy and increasing grant-making assets.
Shehee
will be honored for a lifetime commitment to philanthropy, and Horseshoe
Casino will be honored for corporate philanthropy.
Kay
Sprinkel Grace, author of “High Impact Philanthropy”
and “Beyond Fundraising,” will be the featured speaker
for the luncheon. In addition to being an author, Grace is a consultant,
trainer and national philanthropic leader. She brings a breadth
of experience, knowledge and insight to the luncheon. Recognized
both nationally and internationally, her inspiring new vision of
philanthropy challenges and motivates everyone in the philanthropy
process – nonprofit and foundation staff, donors, board members
and community leaders alike.
The
cost of the luncheon is $30 per person or $300 for a table. To make
