LSUS names new public relations director 11/08/01

LSU in Shreveport has named veteran public relations practitioner and journalist Gregg Trusty as its director of media and public relations.

Trusty assumed the post Oct. 22, replacing Stuart Parkerson, who is now the university’s director of annual support., a new position.

An Indiana native, Trusty handled all aspects of public relations for the Western Electric/AT&T telephone manufacturing plant in Shreveport for more than 25 years, and was director of public information and public information advisor for former Caddo Parish Sheriff Don Hathaway for 5 ½ years.

Immediately prior to joining the LSUS staff, Trusty was the education and crime writer and Editorial Page editor for the Bossier Press-Tribune. He and his wife, Betsy, have one son, G.K., who is sports editor of the Minden Press-Herald.
