LSUS fund-raiser
aimed at scholarships for nonprofits

Employees and
volunteers of local nonprofit organizations will be among the beneficiaries
of a fund-raising effort being conducted by the Nonprofit Administration
Programs at LSU in Shreveport.
The grand prize
in the Dec. 14 drawing is the winners choice of a Chevrolet
S-10 pickup truck or a Chevrolet Cavalier (basic five-speed model
with A/C and radio). The winners Chevy, which will come from
Red River Chevrolet, is being provided at a reduced cost by LSUS
alumnus Jim Fritze. Other prizes include gift certificates from
Porters Cleaners, Savoies, Academy Sports, Goodwill
Stores, The Home Depot and Office Depot.
Net profit from
the sale of as many as 75,000 tickets will go into the scholarship
fund for the Nonprofit Administration Programs, including undergraduate
and graduate scholarships, as well as a new scholarship to be established
for employees or volunteers of local nonprofit organizations.
Tickets are
being sold for $1 each, and will be available each Saturday through
Dec. 8 at South Park Mall and Pierremont Mall. Tickets will also
be sold this Saturday and next Saturday in front of the Brookshires
store on Line Avenue.

also available Monday through Friday in Bronson Hall, Room 355,
on the LSUS campus, or by calling Michelle Landrum, Development
