LSUS Alumni Association Annual Fund Strives for New Heights
A Message from Glenda Erwin, Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, Alumni and Community Relations
The 2001-02 LSUS Alumni Association membership campaign will continue to be part of the university's annual fund appeal. The 2000-01 campaign provided an opportunity for many alumni to contribute to the Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund in addition to paying annual membership dues. The Alumni Association would like to expand the designated choice for donations to include other endowed and unrestricted Foundation funds.

Your gift to the LSUS Alumni Annual Fund strengthens LSUS in a most significant way. In addition to your Alumni Association membership, donations provide restricted and unrestricted funds for the greatest needs, including scholarships, faculty support, technology upgrades, etc.

I urge you to be proud of your university. LSU in Shreveport continues to place the stamp of excellence on our communities through our alumni. Chancellor Marsala is providing outstanding leadership and his untiring energy and magnetic positive attitude for the future are rapidly moving the university forward. However, while the university faculty and staff are invigorated by the future, we need the continued interest and support of our alumni.

Think about your connections to LSUS for a moment. What was the campus like when you first arrived? What memories do you carry with you today? Did you receive a scholarship or did a particular professor make a lasting impact in your life? How do you keep the connections alive?

Few of us can say that we've given back to LSUS more than we've received. You will soon receive the Alumni Association's Annual Fund mailing. I request that you respond in a way that is appropriate for you.

Donors of $25 or more to the Annual Fund will receive a one-year membership to the Alumni Association which entitles the holder to library privileges, discounts at the bookstore and continuing education classes, the LSUS News, and a discounted membership at the campus health and fitness facilities. The Annual Fund brochure will also include LSUS Foundation memberships as well as choices for other restricted or unrestricted endowed funds.
