LSUS Receives $863,561 to Provide Training for General Electric 10/30/01

The LSUS Division of Continuing Education and Public Service has received a grant totaling $863,561 from the Louisiana Department of Labor through the Louisiana Incumbent Worker Program to help the Shreveport General Electric Commercial Transformer Plant upgrade employee skills and create new jobs.

With this latest grant, the university has received six incumbent worker training grants totaling over $4 million, making LSUS the largest Louisiana Incumbent Worker Program training provider in the state.

The grants are being used by LSUS to design individualized training programs for companies to increase skill development of existing employees, increase employee productivity and promote the overall growth of the company.
