LSUS RiverBend
Revue Honors Norman and
Peggy Kinsey
The LSUS Alumni
Association and the LSUS American Humanics Program hosted the 2001
RiverBend Revue on Wednesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Harrahs
Hotel Ballroom.
This was the
3rd year for the event which honors individuals who have contributed
significantly to the success of the university by honoring them
with the Pilot of the Year award.
This years
honorees were Norman and Peggy Kinsey who have been long time supporters
of the university. They joined former recipients Dr. Vincent J.
Marsala, Chancellor of LSUS, and James K. Elrod, President and CEO
of Willis-Knighton Health System.
The Kinseys
have been very active with the LSUS American Studies Program. Peggy,
who received her degree from LSUS in 1984, is a past president of
the LSUS Foundation and it was under her leadership that the Foundation
began the first capital campaign in the history of the university.
She also was the recipient of the 2000 LSUS Distinguished Alumnus
of the Year Award.
LSUS alumnus
Michael Woods chaired the event for the second consecutive year.
Under his leadership the event has raised over $100,000 in the last
two years to help fund scholarships for LSUS students.
Major underwriters
for the event included the George Khoury Foundation, Willis-Knighton
Health System and Christus Schumpert Health System.
