LSUS American Studies Program to Host Renowned Historian Michael Beschloss for Annual Lincoln Lecture Friday, October 19, 2001 09/03/01

Shreveport, La. -- The Louisiana State University in Shreveport American Studies Program will host the lecture "The Lincoln Legacy" featuring nationally renowned presidential historian Michael R. Beschloss on Friday, October 19, 2001 at 9 a.m. in the LSUS University Center Theater.

Michael Beschloss lives in Washington D.C. and is an historian of the Presidency. An author of six books, Newsweek Magazine has called him "the nation's leading presidential historian." He is a regular commentator on PBS's "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" and contributor of ABC News.

The lecture is part of the annual Frank and Virginia Williams' Abraham Lincoln and is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. For more information about the lecture contact LSUS at 318-797-5168.
