Basic business education program scheduled 07/25/02

The Basic Business Education Program, a 12-week entrepreneurial training program, will be offered from Sept. 3 to Dec. 3. The program, now in its 16th year, is co-sponsored by the LSUS Small Business Development Center, the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the City of Shreveport.

The program is designed to provide current and potential entrepreneurs with the fundamental knowledge essential to successful business ownership. The program includes instruction in accounting, marketing, business law, banking & finance, insurance, management techniques, business planning and cash flow management. Instructors are local business leaders and educators.

The cost is $75 for the entire program. Classes meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Shreveport City Hall Annex and the LSUS University Center. Orientation is 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, 400 Edwards St.
