LSUS to join
ERecruiting Network
07/08/02
Students and
graduates of LSU in Shreveport will get some extra job-search help
later this month when the universitys Career Center becomes
part of the ERecruiting Network.
ERecruiting
is an automated data management tool from Experience.com that will
allow LSUS students and alumni to manage their job searches on-line.
Using a password obtained through the Career Center, students and
graduates can upload multiple versions of their résumés
and other job-seeking documents.
Im
really excited about joining ERecruiting, LSUS Career Center
Director Brian Hirsch said, because it will enhance our ability
to serve students, alumni, and employers with the same system that
is used at more than 400 colleges and universities. Hirsch
added that the system is flexible and the services are free to employers,
students, and alumni.
The Career Center
will scan its database of résumés in response to employer
requests, and get the résumés of qualified candidates
in front of employers the LSUS students and graduates may not have
known were recruiting. The system also allows tracking on-campus
recruitment and whether or not a résumé has been referred
to any employers. These enhancements are in addition to the online
job postings already familiar to students and graduates.
Future modifications
include online applications for jobs posted and a tie-in with ERecruitings
national job listings, giving individuals access to jobs posted
at more than 400 colleges and universities.
Employers will
also see benefits from the system through an improved online job-posting
system that is on the way. And, the Career Center will be able to
tailor bundles of recruitment information that is more
specific to employer needs, as well as post frequently updated online
resume books.
LSUS is preparing
for the transition to the new system the week of July 22. Employers
interested in accessing LSUS ERecruiting services should contact
the Career Center at (318) 797-5062 or career@lsus.edu.
