Support Needed for Biking and Walking Documentation Project
March 15, 2013
The Dept. of Kinesiology & Health Science at LSU Shreveport is in need of volunteers to assist with a biking and walking documentation project. With support from the Community Foundation of Shreveport/Bossier, LSUS is participating with ThinkFirst in a pilot study to document biking and walking patterns in Shreveport. This study is part of a national trend to encourage active living for health.
Dates: March 23rd (Sat), 25th (Mon) and 27th (Wed)
Time: 7 AM to 7 PM
- In shifts of 4 hours each: 7:00-11:00 AM, 11:00AM-3:00PM, 3:00-7:00PM
Locations: 15 locations (TBA)
A team of 3 volunteers at each location is needed: 2 watching site lines and 1 doing interviews. We estimate to have altogether 135 volunteers at all the 15 sites per day. We will be sending another email shortly with time slots and locations for volunteers to sign up online.
We would like to have support for this survey from the LSUS family: faculty, staff, students, Student Organizations, and Community Groups. Please forward this information to anyone interested and willing to volunteer.
Please contact Emmanuel Clottey and Mary Hawkins from the Department of Kinesiology for more information at 318-797-5114.
