The International Lincoln Center at LSUS has released its 2017 issue (Vol. 21) of The Lincolnator featuring articles by Donna Byrd on “Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey”; Michael R. Hall (Armstrong State University, GA) on “Latin Americanist Spends the Day Touring Lincoln Sites in Kentucky”; and William Pederson (LSUS) on “Tony Bennett on Lincoln: Linking Music, Art and Politics.”
The Center will host the Shreveport Bar Association’s annual Law Day program on April 28, 8:30-9:30 a.m. in room 108 of Bronson Hall. The topic of the program is “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy” featuring four local lawyers: W. Drew Burnham, Brian C. Flanagan, Timothy R. Wynn, and William J. Flanagan. Free and open to the public.
William Pederson’s “Abraham Lincoln on European Stamps” appears in the current issue of Americana Philatelic News (Vol. 47, No. 235). He will also deliver a lecture on “Lincoln’s Legacy in North America, Asia, Latin America and Africa” to the Lincoln Group of Washington, DC on May 16 at the Clara Barton Museum.
