Sixteen LSUS LEAD Students Earn Leadership Certificates
December 02, 2011
Sixteen LSU Shreveport LEAD students were awarded "Leader of Character Leadership Certificates" in a ceremony Tuesday, November 29, 2011, after successfully completing the requirements during the fall semester. Presenting the awards were Dr. Paul Sisson, LSUS Provost and Vice Chancellor; Dr. Lucy McGregor, Leadership Instructor; and Wayne Hogue, Director of LSUS LEAD.
LEAD (Leadership Education And Development) is LSUS' unique personal development and leadership program assisting students in developing character while building valuable real-world leadership skills through experiential projects and classroom instruction.
To earn a leadership certificate, students must successfully complete nine semester hours of leadership classes. Completion of the leadership certificate requirements takes extraordinary commitment and determination to developing one's own leadership ability and individual character. By earning the honor, LEAD students demonstrate that they possess the knowledge and skills to become leaders of character in the community.
