LGBTQ Diversity Training (Safe Space Training)

Date and Time
Wednesday November 14, 2018 5:00pm - Wednesday November 14, 2018 9:00pm

LGBTQ-Affirmative Diversity Training

The goal of the Safe Space Campaign is to educate individuals who will affirm & support all people, regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity or expression. In the training, you will learn some basic LGBTQ terminology & ways to make your language more inclusive, address confusion & misconceptions, identify biases, increase awareness, discuss the coming out process, and go over some ways that you can be a better ally to LGBTQ students on your campus.

Safe Space Training is a SAFE SPACE for all individuals!

We want participants to feel free & comfortable to be open about their own perceptions, awareness & knowledge (or lack thereof), positive & negative experiences, fears of offending others, concerns over being politically correct or incorrect, & other anxieties regarding LGBTQ topics. Join us for thought-provoking conversations in a fun, enriching learning environment!

  • Individuals who participate in training will receive an official Safe Space designation logo (if desired).
  • Light dinner and refreshments provided.
  • Training manuals included.
