LGBTQ-Affirmative Diversity Training (Safe Space)

Date and Time
Friday June 22, 2018
10:00am - 2:30pm

Safe Space is a part of our overall commitment to diversity at LSUS.

The goal of the Safe Space Campaign is to educate individuals who will affirm & support all people, regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity or expression.

In the training, you will learn some basic LGBTQ terminology and ways to make your language more inclusive, address confusion and misconceptions, identify biases, increase awareness, discuss the coming out process, and go over some ways that you can be a better ally to LGBTQ students on your campus.

Safe Space Training is a SAFE SPACE for ALL INDIVIDUALS.  We want participants to feel free & comfortable to be open about their own perceptions, awareness & knowledge (or lack thereof), positive & negative experiences, fears of offending others, concerns over being politically correct or incorrect, and other anxieties regarding LGBTQ topics.

Join us for throught-provoking conversations in a fun, enriching learning environment!

Individuals who participate in training will receive an official Safe Space designation logo (if desired).
