    LSU Shreveport is excited to welcome Japanese weightlifters to campus for the eighth consecutive year. This year six students were chosen to come to LSUS to train in weightlifting and learn English as a second language (ESL) for three weeks.

    LSUS Doctoral Program Represented at Louisiana Education Research Association

    The Leadership Studies Doctorate of Education, which includes professionals from careers in business, nonprofit organizations, politics, military, education, and other areas, welcomes inquiries about the program and applicants to Cohort 5 which will begin taking doctoral classes in the fall semester (2016).

    United States Debate Team wins Montgomery Cup, LSUS represented

    After two very eventful weeks traveling throughout Ireland competing, the United States Montgomery Cup Debate Team faced Edinburgh in the final debate of the 2016 Montgomery Cup. The U.S. team was made up of students and coaches from LSU Shreveport and the University of Central Missouri.

    College Goal Sunday in Louisiana Continues on March 6

    Louisiana's ninth annual College Goal Sunday events will be held on March 6, 2016, from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at nine locations around the state. The purpose of College Goal Sunday is to provide students and their families with free professional assistance in completing the primary student financial aid form, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    LSUS Hosts Annual Meeting of the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era

    The Consortium on the Revolutionary Era, 1750-1850 (CRE) is an organization of member schools dedicated to the promotion of research on the Revolutionary Period. The CRE provides an annual venue for the presentation of original academic research on the history of Europe, the United States, Latin America, the Atlantic World and beyond during the Age of Revolution.

    LSU Shreveport Welcomes New Executive Director of Continuing Education and Public Service

    The LSU Shreveport campus is proud to welcome Brent Wallace as the new Executive Director of Continuing Education and Public Service. Wallace will provide both strategic leadership and operational management for the LSUS Division of Continuing Education and Public Service which includes the successful Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate Program, the LSUS Conferences and Institutes division, continuing education programs and the regionally acclaimed Pioneer Heritage Center.

    Hurricanes and Tornadoes Dominate Research Forum at LSUS

    The first annual Student Scholars Forum was held at the LSU Shreveport campus on Friday, February 19. The program included 73 presentations by students from seven regional campuses in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi, representing Science and Mathematics, Arts and Humanities, Business, Education, and Social Sciences.
