LSUS Adult Education Counselor/Advisor Training Courses Address Worldwide Need
The LSUS College of Education and Human Sciences announces a collaboration with Fort Polk military base to create a 24-hour series of courses in adult education counseling and advising at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for military personnel and federal employees - the first of its kind in the southeastern region of the United States.

LSUS Announces Dean's and Chancellor's Honors List for Fall 2015
LSU Shreveport has announced its fall 2015 Chancellor's List and Dean's List, recognizing fulltime undergraduates who have a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Some 415 Receive Diplomas at LSUS Dec. 20 Commencement
LSU Shreveport will hold its Fall Commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, LA. A total of 415 students are candidates for degrees in the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business, Education and Human Development, having completed their programs in either the summer or fall.

Big News on Campus: Accreditation by SACS Commission on Colleges is Affirmed
Following years of rigorous self-study and intensive scrutiny, LSU Shreveport has earned accreditation for another 10 years from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The approval came Friday (Dec. 4, 2015) in Houston, Texas, as SACSCOC began its annual meeting.

A joint agreement that will make it easier for Psychology students at Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) to complete a bachelor's degree at LSU Shreveport will be formalized during a ceremony Monday, Dec. 14 at SUSLA.

The American Studies program at LSU Shreveport has announced that it will hold its 33rd annual mini Washington D.C. "semester" during the interim between the end of the spring semester and the start of the summer session next year.

LSUS Professor William D. Pederson Receives Leadership Award in Ecuador
Dr. William D. Pederson, professor of political science and the American Studies Endowed Chair at LSUS, was presented the 2015 Association of Third World Studies (ATWS) Outstanding Leadership Award at the 33rd annual conference of the ATWS held in Quito, Ecuador on Nov. 22-24.
