The national accreditation just announced for the joint Public Health Program at LSU Shreveport and LSU Health Shreveport underscores the quality of the program for students and concludes a lengthy and challenging process for faculty and staff at the two institutions.The Council on Education for Public Health has announced the accreditation of the Masters in Public Health program, which is offered through a collaboration between the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences on the LSUS campus and the School of Allied Health Professions at LSUHS.

The Department of History and Social Sciences at LSU Shreveport dedicated its new Paul Jones Library Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 in Room 421 of Bronson Hall. The event was held between 2 and 4 p.m. Jones, 82, a retired insurance agent with a love of history and reading, has donated well over 2,000 to the department. The new library bearing his name is a closed-stacks research facility for LSUS majors.

A violinist and a mime, both from the Piatigorsky Foundation, were the featured performers at a free and open-to-the-public concert Monday (Nov. 2, 2015) at LSU Shreveport. The one-hour concert, sponsored by the Noel Foundation, Inc., was held at 11 a.m. in the University Center Theatre.

Dr. Kenna Morgan Franklin, Director of Multicultural Affairs at Louisiana State University Shreveport, is one of only 36 college leaders selected by a national review panel to attend the prestigious Executive Leadership Institute sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College. The 36 participants hold senior-level leadership positions in both senior institutions and community colleges throughout the United States.
