    As a way to honor and thank members of the university community for their dedication and support, the LSUS Student Activities Board, Student Government Association and Student Organization Council sponsored the 2018 Student Leadership Awards and Professor of the Year Awards on Friday, April 27.

    LSUS Foundation is Among Donor Choices on Give for Good Day May 1

    The LSUS Foundation is among worthy local causes listed for consideration by donors on May 1, Give for Good Day, the online day of giving in Northwest Louisiana.     Shreve Memorial Library, LSUS Present Children's Book Festival Saturday, May 5 on Campus

    Shreve Memorial Library will sponsor its first Children's Book Festival on Saturday, May 5 on the campus of LSU in Shreveport. There is no admission charge for the event that will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the front of the campus near the Administration Building and Noel Memorial Library. Five authors of children's books will be featured.

    Capture of Golden State Killer Resonates in LSUS Criminal Justice Class About Serial Murder

    The capture of the Golden State killer last Wednesday after 40 years had special meaning to LSUS students in Dr. Chris Hale's popular Criminal Justice class about serial murder. They had studied the case and speculated about the perpetrator.

    AACSB Extends Accreditation in Business for LSUS; Less than 5% of World's Business Schools Earn This Designation

    Accreditation in business has been extended for LSU in Shreveport by AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB has announced that LSUS is among 52 business schools that have extended their accreditation in business.

    LSUS to Conclude its Campus-wide 50th Anniversary Celebration with Golden Jublice on April 20

    LSU in Shreveport will conclude an academic year of 50th anniversary events with a Golden Jubilee festival on the university mall Friday, April 20. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the university community and its friends will finalize the campus-wide observance with food and festivities, including the completion of a time capsule to be opened in 25 years.

    Business Student Research Forum is April 17 at LSUS

    The LSUS Business Student Research Forum will be held Tuesday, April 17 from 3-6 p.m. in the LSUS University Center Ballroom.The forum features 84 research posters and 190 virtual research presentations under the guidance of 11 faculty mentors in the School of Business.

    LSUS Honors its 'Best of the Best' at Academic Awards Convocation 2018

    LSU in Shreveport Wednesday (April 11, 2018) recognized some 150 students who are among its best and brightest academically. The occasion was the 47th annual Academic Awards Convocation, held at 11 a.m. in the University Center Theater.

    Annual Game Jam Set for April 13-15 at LSUS

    The Computer Science Club at LSU in Shreveport is hosting the annual Game Jam this year from Friday-Sunday, April 13-15 in the Technology Center and Game Development labs. The event, open to the public, draws game enthusiasts from throughout the area.

    Latin American Culture Program is April 10 & 11 at LSUS

    Latin American literature, languages and poetry will be discussed during three public presentations Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10 and 11, in Bronson Hall at LSU in Shreveport. Sam Ginsburg and Ignacio Carvajal Regidor, both of the University of Texas, will speak.
