    LSU Shreveport to Host Regional Social Studies Fair

    The 38th Annual Region I Social Studies Fair will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at LSU Shreveport. This event is hosted by the Division of Continuing Education and Public Service at LSUS.

    The Louisiana State University Debate team swept the Henderson State “Winter Warm-Up” debate tournament held February 15-17th. The team placed first in overall sweepstakes with 16 individual awards including winning all three divisions of debate.

    LSUS Communications Department Presents Black Box Workshop Productions

    A new theatre series sponsored by the LSUS Department of Communications is set for initial production on February 21-24. Black Box Workshop Productions will present two one-act plays in a setting that will allow for experimental staging as well as the presentation of shows seldom available to the public.

    Professors Michael Welch, Kevin Jones, Katherine Wickstrom, and psychology students Shelly Gearheart and Lauren McKinley will present at the National Association of School Psychologists Convention February 12-15, 2013 in Seattle, WA.

    LSU Shreveport to Hold Open House Event on Feb. 7 at Noel Memorial Library

    LSU Shreveport will hold an open house on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Noel Memorial Library. Representatives from both LSU and LSU Shreveport will be on hand to answer questions, and information will be available on all degree programs included in the joint commitment plan.

    LSU Announces Members of Sub-Committees to Transition Advisory Team

    In another significant step in the reshaping of the LSU System, more than 60 individuals have been invited to participate on five sub-committees designed to generate information in specific areas of focus that will ultimately lead to a more competitive and efficient LSU. Five of these individuals are representatives of LSUS.
