    LSU Shreveport has announced its fall 2015 Chancellor's List and Dean's List, recognizing fulltime undergraduates who have a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5.

    Some 415 Receive Diplomas at LSUS Dec. 20 Commencement

    LSU Shreveport will hold its Fall Commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, LA. A total of 415 students are candidates for degrees in the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business, Education and Human Development, having completed their programs in either the summer or fall.

    Big News on Campus: Accreditation by SACS Commission on Colleges is Affirmed

    Following years of rigorous self-study and intensive scrutiny, LSU Shreveport has earned accreditation for another 10 years from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The approval came Friday (Dec. 4, 2015) in Houston, Texas, as SACSCOC began its annual meeting.

    LSUS, SUSLA to Sign Agreement to Benefit Students Studying Psychology

    A joint agreement that will make it easier for Psychology students at Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) to complete a bachelor's degree at LSU Shreveport will be formalized during a ceremony Monday, Dec. 14 at SUSLA.

    LSUS Announces Mini-Washiington 'Semester;' Registration Deadline Feb. 15

    The American Studies program at LSU Shreveport has announced that it will hold its 33rd annual mini Washington D.C. "semester" during the interim between the end of the spring semester and the start of the summer session next year.

    LSUS Professor William D. Pederson Receives Leadership Award in Ecuador

    Dr. William D. Pederson, professor of political science and the American Studies Endowed Chair at LSUS, was presented the 2015 Association of Third World Studies (ATWS) Outstanding Leadership Award at the 33rd annual conference of the ATWS held in Quito, Ecuador on Nov. 22-24.

    Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band at LSUS Winter Concert Dec. 6

    A Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band at LSUS concert featuring traditional Christmas music and various holiday selections will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The band's annual Winter Concert, it will be held in the University Center Theater.

    Almagest: The Magazine Revealed

    The fall 2015 publication of Almagest: The Magazine was made official on Tuesday (11/22/15) at LSU Shreveport with a launch party at 6:30 p.m. in the Noel Memorial Library. The magazine is a publication of the print-based journalism classes in the Department of Arts and Media, and is entirely student produced.

    LSUS senior mass communication student Blair Burlison of Benton, La., was awarded the 2015 Kerry Garland Memorial Scholarship by the Shreveport Journalism Foundation on Friday evening (11/20/15).

    Symposium to Commemorate 25th Anniversary of “Secret Squirrel” Air Combat Mission

    The Strategy Alternatives Consortium (SAC) affiliate at Louisiana State University Shreveport is hosting a symposium to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the "Secret Squirrel" historic air combat mission in 1991. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 in the LSUS University Center Theater and is open to the public.
