LSUS Watershed Institute Recognized for Evaluation Efforts; Director To Attend National Conference

The LSU Shreveport Red River Watershed Management Institute and Director Gary Hanson, have been recognized by the Louisiana Ground Water Resources Commission for their continuing efforts in the evaluation of water resources.
The LGWRC provided a report on Louisiana's ground and surface water to members of the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee and the Senate Natural Resources and Environmental Quality committees.
Additionally, the RRWMI has been invited to the 2012 Land Grant and Sea Grant National Water Conference May 23, 2012 in Portland, Ore. The conference provides water scientists, engineers, educators and managers an opportunity to share knowledge, research and emerging ideas in the field.
Hanson will present a case study that focuses on shale gas development and water resource management.
