LSUS Students Win Big at ADDY Awards
February 19, 2014
The American Advertising Federation of Shreveport Bossier announced their ADDY Award Winners at their February 15th reception at East Ridge Country Club. These awards are presented to students and professionals for outstanding skills in design. LSUS senior Lauren Daniel was presented with the Student Best in Show Award for her entry entitled “Pantonium Day.”
Daniel’s project was a direct marketing piece for a fictitious holiday that celebrated the 2013 color of the year, emerald green.
“I wasn’t able to make it to the reception, but when I found out I won, I was really surprised and excited!” said Daniel, a graphic design major. “I would encourage students to participate in contests like this one because you never know if you’ll win unless you try!”
LSUS students Kirby Allen, Jescee Ratcliff and Shadi Darzeidan were also winners: each received Bronze for their entries, Bombycilla Cedrorum, Reminiscing Rabbits, and Urinal, respectively.
“It feels really great. I’m glad I got to represent LSUS in a way that benefits our reputation and shows that we’re a school that creates successful advertisers,” said Shadi Darzeidan, a junior graphic design major who created a movie poster. Darzeidan also won a Bronze award last year.
