LSUS Ranked 4th in Online MBA and Top 20 in Online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction

October 14, 2015

LSU Shreveport is honored to announce that the university has been ranked as #4 in the nation for its online Master of Business Administration program by Affordable Colleges Online.

LSUS also made the Top 20 list (18th place) as one of the most affordable online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction programs by Top Education Degrees.

From its beginnings in 1967, LSU Shreveport has served the higher education needs of the Shreveport-Bossier area with its stellar faculty and devoted staff. As LSU Shreveport approaches its 50th anniversary, the university continues its mission to educate and promote critical thinking for its well-rounded students, as evidenced by the recognition of its graduate program success in Business and Education.

The quality of the MBA program offered by LSU Shreveport is supported by its earned rank of second place out of 50 colleges as well as the caliber of the other universities ranked in the Top 5 like Arizona State University and George Washington University among others. The MBA Program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

"We offer one of the most affordable AACSB accredited MBA programs in the country, and only 5% of all business schools worldwide meet the AACSB's challenging standards" said Dr. Bill Bigler, MBA Program Director. "At a time when the cost of education is rising faster than inflation, we are doing our part to keep these costs as low as possible while maintaining quality, consistent with our AACSB accreditation."

At LSU Shreveport, students have the ability to choose from four different specializations in the online MBA program including Finance, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise, and General Business. A concentration in Finance is also available.

"Our offering now makes obtaining an MBA within the reach of a lot of people who otherwise could not afford graduate education in addition to the cost of their undergraduate education," Dr. Bigler said.

LSUS' Top 20 ranked online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program is also a source of pride for the institution. The degree offers various concentrations, which allow students to tailor their area of education to specific interests in the field. Concentration areas include Educational Technology, Academically Gifted, Reading & Literacy, English as a Second Language, and General Emphasis.

"This ranking and distinction helps LSUS stand out a great deal. Students shop for programs, especially online programs. They want quality. We know we provide a quality program," said Dr. Cay Evans, Master of Education Program Director. "This ranking helps get what we already know about our programs out to the masses."

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
