LSUS Hires Director of Events Management

January 09, 2018

Big changes are in store for LSUS as the university introduces a new position, and employee, that will reach out to the community and empower increased event operations on campus in an effort to bring new guests to the university.

Leigh Anne Chambers has accepted the position as the LSUS Director of Events Management. As the LSUS Director of Events Management, Chambers will provide vision, leadership, and strategic planning for a comprehensive events management and conference administration function. She will also develop relationships with internal and external clients and partners to attract new audiences to campus, while generating revenue to support institutional priorities. Focal areas will include matters for youth, professionals and the public at-large, ideally giving LSU Shreveport a new venue to connect with Alumni.

Chambers displays great leadership qualities that has prepared her to excel in her new position, as she was the former Director of Patron Advancement with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. She also served as the Executive Director of the Bossier Arts Council and the North Central Louisiana Arts Council.
"Leigh Anne Chambers brings a wealth of experience to the new LSUS Director of Events Management role," said Brent Wallace, Executive Director of Continuing Education. "As a public university, LSUS is uniquely positioned to not only be a regional thought leader, but also a hub for vibrant academic, professional, and community events. We look forward to Ms. Chambers complementing our mission at LSUS while advancing our community engagement goals."

The LSUS community is excited to have Chambers on board, and we can't wait to see what great things she has planned for the community, and the university. Welcome, Leigh Ann Chambers!
