LSUS Foundation Member Honored as Business Leader of the Year
January 26, 2012LSUS Foundation board member Bob Hamm was honored as the 2011 Business Leader of the Year at the 2012 annual meeting of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. The annual meeting was held Jan. 26, 2011 at the Shreveport Country Club.
Hamm is the chief executive officer of Hamm Mechanical, LLC. Prior to establishing his own business, Hamm worked at Berg, Inc. In his 46 years with Berg, he held numerous positions in the company including estimator, project manager, marketing vice president, operations manager and president/CEO.
In addition to active leadership roles for many professional business organizations, Hamm is a past President of the Strategic Action Council of Northwest Louisiana, past Vice President of Alliance for Education, past Chairman of the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and past Director of both the Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana and the United Way of Northwest Louisiana.
He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Centenary College, the Rotary Club of Shreveport, Committee of One Hundred and was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL). He will serve as Chair-Elect of the organization for 2012. He will assume the role of Chairman of CABL in 2013.
