March 21, 2017

The 19th Annual LSUS Alumni Capital One Pilots Golf Classic offers a noon shotgun start Monday, April 10, at The Golf Club at StoneBridge. Capital One Bank will again serve as Title Sponsor. Members of the LSUS athletic staff will be on hand during the day.

StoneBridge features a beautifully-maintained, 18-hole championship golf course designed by PGA Tour pro Fred Couples and award-winning architect Gene Bates. It winds through a natural setting of mature oaks, small lakes and protected wetlands. The course offers five sets of tees to provide a fun and exciting layout for golfers of all levels. The great variety of shot values and beautiful scenery offer an outstanding golfing experience.

Team sponsorships range from $750 to $2,500. Fairway sponsorships with course signage only are also available at $250. Team entry fee covers greens fees, electric cart, practice range, team photos, tournament gifts, mulligans, most contests and door prize tickets, box lunch, beverages, supper and the chance to win great prizes.

Proceeds benefit LSUS scholarships, programs, projects and services. Since 1999, the tournament has raised profits of $270,000, with more than $182,000 having gone to scholarships.

Tournament features include Hole-In-One Contests sponsored by Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM and Courtesy Golf Cars, Campus Federal Credit Union Putting Contest, Closest-to-the-Pin Contests, Chancellor’s Challenge, a Silent Auction and an awards ceremony. LSU and PGA greats Todd Walker and Emlyn Aubrey will hit long drives on the tough 514-yard, Par 5 Hole #16 to raise money for scholarships. Team prizes will be awarded for both flights. The First Flight, First Place Team Prize, donated by Cypress Bend Resort, includes a two-night stay for two people in a deluxe hotel room, plus two rounds of golf with carts for each member of the winning team. Cypress Bend, a member of the Audubon Golf Trail, sits on the shores of Toledo Bend Lake near Many, La.
