LSU Shreveport to Induct Members of Phi Sigma Iota

The International Foreign Language Honor Society, Phi Sigma Iota, at LSU Shreveport will induct new members today.


Members must have completed at least one course in a foreign language at the third year level, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and rank in the top 35% of their class. New members this year are Hilaire Ball, Melissa Embrey and Joshua Frank.

Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the study or teaching of any of the academic fields related to foreign language, literature or culture. Membership in the society is the highest academic honor in the field of foreign languages. There are approximately 250 chapters of Phi Sigma Iota at institutions of higher learning in the United States, Mexico and France.
