LSU Shreveport Student Selected for Next Generation Leaders Program

LSU Shreveport undergraduate student Ta'Kori Harris was selected by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance for the Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program. Harris is a senior, sociology major from Homer, La. and graduates in December 2011. She is currently is completing an internship with the Women's Philanthropy Network.
The NextGen program awards students $4,500 to complete their internships and certification. All students selected agree to complete the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification process and participate in a voluntary program evaluation, as well as a multi-year longitudinal research study.
Harris was chosen from more than 120 students at 36 affiliated colleges and universities. This is the seventh award winner from LSUS in the past four years. Previous recipients from LSUS include Shawnta Jones in 2008; Natalie Hunsicker in 2009; and Quantina Young, Kamesha West, Kendra N. Williams and Jena Sharpton in 2010.
The Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program is an initiative funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation at the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, formally known as American Humanics.
