LSU Shreveport Reopens After Power Outage

The LSU Shreveport campus reopened Monday, April 2 after a weeklong power outage. University offices opened for regular office hours at 8 a.m today.
"I want to thank the LSUS faculty, staff and students for their continued patience and support during the week of repairs. I also want to say 'thank you' to President Rowe and his staff at Centenary College for opening their campus to our faculty and students, and Chancellor Robert Barish at LSU Health Sciences Center and the City of Shreveport for their support." said LSUS Chancellor Vince Marsala.
Classes will resume on campus Monday, April 9 after the scheduled spring break, April 2-6.
The campus suffered an electrical outage on Wednesday, March 21 in the early morning hours due to a failure of the primary electrical feed to the campus. The alternate electrical feed was utilized to get electricity back to the campus until its failure Friday, March 23.
