LSU Shreveport Recreational Sports Hosts Health and Wellness Fair
October 24, 2011LSU Shreveport Recreational Sports will host a Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the University Center Lobby.
This year's fair will include free screenings and assessments, interactive displays regarding various health topics, free samples and door prize drawings for LSUS students. The Fair annually hosts the Kinesiology and Health Sciences students, local vendors and non-profit organization to distribute information related to students' physical, mental, emotional, environmental and spiritual well-being.
The American Red Cross will be providing flu shots for $25 and pneumonia shots for $30. Both vaccinations are free to those with Medicare Part B.
LifeShare Blood Center will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center Caddo/Bossier Room.
The goal of this event is to increase awareness and promote healthy lifestyles across the campus and local community. Vendors will provide samples and educational materials that will benefit the LSUS students, faculty, staff and surrounding community.
