LSU Shreveport Provost to Speak at Induction Ceremony

LSU Shreveport Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Dr. Paul Sisson will speak at the Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society induction ceremony at Airline High School today, October 27, 2011 at 6 p.m.

Dr. Anita Szombathelyi, Mu Alpha Theta sponsor, said she chose Dr. Sisson as the speaker because he, "is an accomplished mathematician, and very successful in the classroom as a professor of mathematics."

Mu Alpha Theta is dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. Sisson will speak on the important role mathematics has in the present and future of society.

There will be 69 students inducted into the honor society.
