LSU Shreveport Professors Slated for Speaking Engagements

Four LSU Shreveport mathematics professors will speak at various conferences this week.
Dr. Rick Mabry will give a colloquium talk at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. on Tuesday, October 18, and another at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. on Thursday, October 20. Mabry holds the Miriam M. Sklar Endowed Professorship in Theoretical Math and Physics and has been with LSUS since 1989.
Drs. Tibor Szarvas and Anita Szombathelyi will each give one-hour presentations at the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics (LATM) 2011 Conference in Monroe, La. on Friday, October 21. Tibor has been an associate professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics at LSUS since 2007. Szombathelyi is an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at LSUS.
Dr. Judith Covington will give the Keynote Address at the 2011 Texas Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (TUMC) in Tyler, Texas on Saturday, October 22. The title of her address is, "The Game of SET and Geometry." Covington is an associate professor of mathematics and has been with LSUS since 1993.
