LSU Shreveport Professor Receives French Award
March 07, 2011LSU Shreveport Assistant Professor of European history Alexander Mikaberidze, was awarded a gold medal in fine arts for his contributions to French Revolutionary and Napoleonic history. Mikaberidze has contributed to books, editorial articles and historical societies.
The award was given by La Renaissance Française, a French non-profit organization founded in 1916 by French president Raymond Poincaré. It currently operates under the high patronage of the French Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Defense and National Education. Its primary mission is the promotion of French culture and language. The society awards bronze, silver and gold medals in several categories.
Mikaberdize has taught at LSUS since 2007.
