LSU Shreveport Professor Pens Two-Volume Book

LSU Shreveport Assistant Professor of European History Dr. Alexander Mikaberidze has written a two-volume book titled "Conflict and Conquest in the Islamic World," been published by ABC-CLIO/Greenwood. The book is the first comprehensive reference title on the military history of the Islamic community.

The book contains over 600 entries that enable readers to understand the complex role warfare has played in Islamic life throughout history and how Islamic warfare has evolved over the centuries. The historical encyclopedia documents the extensive military history of the Islamic world between the 7th century and the present day.

Dr. Mikaberidze has been teaching at LSU Shreveport since 2007 and is an award-winning author of eight other books.
