LSU Shreveport Practical Nursing Program to Graduate Largest Class to Date

The LSU Shreveport Practical Nursing Program will be graduating the largest class to date on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the University Center Theater.

There will be 32 students graduating. Students attended class for 40 hours per week for 12 months. Each student must maintain an 82% or higher in each class in order to progress to the next level. All graduates are employed working in hospitals, doctor's offices, nursing homes and home health agencies.

"I know that my staff and I have trained and educated our students to provide the highest level of care in all situations.  I would be proud to have any one of them provide care to me or my family member," said Terri Durel, director of the Practical Nursing Program.

LSU Shreveport offers the only evening program and the only 12-month day program. There have been 103 students graduate from the Practical Nursing Program since 2006.
