LSU Shreveport Inducts Students to Sigma Tau Delta

The Lambda Upsilon chapter of the international English honor society of Sigma Tau Delta inducted four LSU Shreveport English majors on Friday, May 6, 2011. The four students receiving the honor are juniors Sarah Kennemer, Amy Smith, and Lisa Terry and senior Rachel DeLoach.
Students must be a junior or senior English major and rank in the top 35 percent of their class. They must also have a 3.5 GPA in general scholarship as well as in English courses beyond freshman composition.
Sigma Tau Delta fosters all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing, and the society's central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.
