LSU Shreveport Honor Society Inducts New Members and Officers

The Psi Kappa chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at LSU Shreveport held an induction ceremony for new members and officers November 17, 2011. KTAL news anchor Jenna Zibton served as keynote speaker. Zibton was joined by alumna Karen Wissing who is the marketing manager at Sci-Port and Dr. Larry Anderson, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at LSUS.
Rachel Taylor was sworn in as the 2012 president. Her executive board includes Crystal Selover as vice-president, Mary Spring as secretary, Alanna Landry as treasurer, and Jenna Glorioso as special events chair. New members include Alanna Landry and Stacy Hyman of Bossier City, La., and Courtney Kochakian of Shreveport, La.
Lambda Pi Eta is the national undergraduate communication honor society and is part of the National Communication Association, the oldest scholarly speech association in the United States. Lambda Pi Eta is an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
To be invited to join, students must maintain an overall minimum GPA of 3.00, keep a GPA of at least 3.25 in the major subject area, have completed 60 hours of college work and at least 12 hours in the field of communication.
