LSU Shreveport Faculty Present in Italy

LSUS associate professors Dr. Marjan Trutschl and Dr. Urska Cvek presented "Application of Head Tracking for Interactive Data Visualization" at the 7th International Multi-Conference on Computing in Global Information Technology (ICCGI 2012) held in Venice, Italy in June. Dr. Trutschl was also invited to participate on a panel along with researchers from Canada, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and USA.
Dr. Trutschl and Dr. Cvek are both Associate Professors of Computer Science, co-Directors of the Laboratory for Advanced Biomedical Informatics (LABi) at LSU Shreveport, members of the Center for Molecular and Tumor Virology at LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport and Fellows of the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network's Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, and Computational Biology Core. Additionally, Dr. Trutschl is the Abe Sadoff Distinguished Chair in Bioinformatics at LSUS and Director of the LSUS/LSUHSC-S CMTV Bioinformatics Core. They both helped establish LSU Shreveport's Bioinformatics Concentration that draws on the resources of four departments: chemistry, computer science, biological sciences and mathematics at both LSU Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
